The SDSU Computer Science Club was recently approved by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) as an ACM Student Chapter.

At the meeting on January 21, many upcoming events and happenings were discussed. The Engineering EXPO this year will have a high school programming competition. We, the ACM Club, will be responsible for putting this together. If anyone is interested in being a judge that day, or what that would entail, please contact Scott Kool.
The ACM Club Spring Industry Trip was also mentioned. If you have any ideas of companies to visit and other places to go for the trip, contact Scott Kool.
The annual Engineering Phonathon will be happening the week of January 31 through February 6. We call SDSU alumni and let them know what has been happening recently, also asking for a donation to the department. These funds are used to support department activites, including those of the ACM Club. There will be free food provided, as well as two free movie tickets for those who sign up for the Computer Science slots. There is a sign-up sheet in SECS 214. For more information, please contact Dr. George Hamer.
To help increase our funds for activities such as the Spring Industry Trip, a fund-raising committee has been formed. If you would like to join or have any ideas, please contact Andrew Ode.
Our next meeting will take place on February 4. Daktronics will have a presentation about their company and some job openings. Free pizza will be provided.
Sometime in March Federated Insurance will be giving a presentation on Data Warehousing. Come to February's meeting and check the site later for more information.
